Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples

You're standing on Piazza del Plebiscito, the big square in the heart of Naples, just a short way from the gulf. Start by looking west. That's the church of San Francesco di Paola, with two long colonnades sweeping out to either side, like arms wrapping around the square. Those colonnades are what makes this place instantly recognisable. Now turn around. On the east side stands the Royal Palace. And take a look at the buildings beside the church: the Palazzo Salerno and the Prefecture Palace mirror each other.
