You're standing at the Flavian Amphitheater of Pozzuoli. Take in that huge oval shape. The whole structure measures about one hundred forty-seven by one hundred seventeen metres. That makes it the third-largest amphitheater in Italy. Only the Colosseum in Rome and the amphitheater of Capua are bigger. Tens of thousands of spectators once packed these stands.
