You're standing at the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade. Start by looking at the building itself. It was never meant to be a museum. It's a residential villa, built in 1927 for Đorđe Genčić and designed by Serbian architect Dragiša Brašovan. In 1945 the new communist authorities confiscated it. After a few years of being used for all sorts of things, it became home to the museum, founded on the fifth of December, 1952.
