You're standing at the Pobednik, the Victor, high in the Upper Town of Belgrade Fortress. Look up. On top of a Doric column, about fourteen metres up, stands a naked bronze man. In his left hand he holds a falcon, in his right a sword. Peace and war in one figure. He's the work of the famous sculptor Ivan Meštrović, while the column and its cube-shaped base were designed by architect Petar Bajalović.
