You're standing on Broad Street in Oxford, in front of Balliol College. Balliol is one of the oldest colleges in the university. It even claims to be the oldest, although two other colleges say the same about themselves. Take a look at the front, with its gateway and tower. That was designed in 1867 and 1868 by the architect Alfred Waterhouse.
