Millennium Cross in Skopje

You're standing on top of Vodno Mountain, high above Skopje, right at the foot of the Millennium Cross. Take a look up. This cross is sixty-six metres tall, one of the tallest in the world. Notice how it's built? It's an open steel lattice, a bit like the Eiffel Tower. Otherwise it's a plain, traditional cross with no decoration at all. It rests on a platform of twelve columns, one for each apostle.
