You're standing at the Skopje Aqueduct, in the Vizbegovo neighbourhood, about two kilometres northwest of the city centre. Take a look along that row of arches. It's a long stone bridge that never carried people. It carried water. This is the only aqueduct in North Macedonia, and together with one near Split in Croatia and one at Bar in Montenegro, it's among the largest and best preserved in the former Yugoslavia.
