You're standing on Rådhuspladsen, City Hall Square, the beating heart of Copenhagen. This is where the Danes ring in the New Year, where Pride passes through and where people come to protest. Start with the big city hall. Architect Martin Nyrop took his cue from the Palazzo Pubblico in Siena, and you can see it in the solid façade and that tall tower. It was finished in 1905.
