You're standing at Ordrupgaard, in Charlottenlund, just north of Copenhagen. Right nearby is Dyrehaven, the big royal deer park. Start with the old country house. It's a stately neoclassical home with three wings, built between 1916 and 1918 by architect Gotfred Tvede. It belonged to Wilhelm Hansen, a wealthy insurance boss, and his wife Henny. Fun detail: the two met through Volapük, an invented language.
