You're standing outside Het Noordbrabants Museum, on the Verwersstraat in 's-Hertogenbosch. Take a look at that stately façade. This building is known as the Gouvernement, the former residence of the governor, the king's representative in the province. But its story goes back further. It started out in 1615 as a Jesuit monastery, and in 1767 it was remodelled for the military government in the style of Louis the Fourteenth.
