You're standing at the Citadel of 's-Hertogenbosch, on the north side of the city centre. Look at the brick ramparts and the moat. Seen from above, this fortress is a pentagon with five sharp points, called bastions. In the seventeenth century, a regular pentagon like this was considered the ideal fortress.
