You're standing at Palazzo Carignano, right in the centre of Turin, on Via Accademia delle Scienze. Take a look at the façade. It ripples. First it curves in, then out, then in again. That rhythm was invented by Francesco Borromini for a church in Rome, San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane. Here it's used on a secular building, and this is the only example of that anywhere. All of it in brick, in full Baroque style.
