You're standing on the Brink in Assen, at the Provincial Memorial of Drenthe. This monument remembers the victims of the Second World War. Start with the statue itself. A bronze woman kneels, holding a palm of honour. She rests on a base of French limestone. All it says is 1940-1945 and Prov. Drenthe. Nothing more is needed.
