You're standing on Stationsplein, in front of Veenendaal Centrum station, where two busy streets, Kerkewijk and Het Goeie Spoor, meet. In front of you is a round memorial with a statue on a pedestal in the middle. This is the Monument to the Fallen. It was unveiled on the thirty-first of August, 1951.
