You're standing at the War Museum of Thessaloniki. Take a look at the building first, because it's a lot older than the museum inside it. It went up between 1900 and 1902, designed by the architect Vitaliano Poselli. Back when it was built, Thessaloniki was still part of the Ottoman Empire. The museum itself only moved in much later, opening its doors in October 2000.
