You're standing in Leith, the old port of Edinburgh, next to Britannia. Until 1997 this was the royal yacht of the British monarchy. Start with the three masts. The tallest is about forty-two metres. The top of the mainmast was hinged, so the ship could slip under bridges. On the wharf below sits a Rolls-Royce Phantom V, a retired state car. And if there's a sailing yacht moored alongside, that's Bloodhound, built in 1936 and once owned by the Queen and Prince Philip. Charles and Anne learned to sail on her. In July and August she's usually up in Oban, so you might miss her.
