You're standing at Aberdour Castle, in the village of Easter Aberdour in Fife. Take a good look, because this is one of the two oldest datable castles still standing in Scotland. The lowest two storeys of the tower go back to around 1200. Notice the cube-shaped stone blocks and the way the walls splay outwards at the base. Those are the clues that give its age away.
