The Flamingoroute is a circular ride of about 190 km through the Achterhoek, Twente and the Münsterland in Germany, taking in Winterswijk, Groenlo, Haaksbergen, Enschede, Gronau, Vreden and Ahaus. You ride past the small fortified town of Bredevoort and the Nationaal Museum Tachtigjarige Oorlog (Eighty Years' War museum) in Groenlo, through peat and fen areas such as the Korenburgerveen, Aamsveen, Witte Veen and Zwillbrocker Venn, and across the Buurserzand.
