You're standing at Huis te Echten, an old havezate in Drenthe. A havezate was a noble house that gave its owner a say in governing the province. Look at the block-shaped manor with its hipped roof and framed front door. It even has a double moat around it. That moat dates from before 1700, back when barges could tie up here to deliver supplies.
