You're standing at Oldengaerde, an old havezate in Westeinde, just outside Dwingeloo. A havezate was a noble manor in Drenthe, and owning one could earn you a seat in the province's Ridderschap, its assembly of nobles. Around Dwingeloo there were once five of them. This is one.
