You're standing at St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, the national cathedral of the Church of Ireland. Here's an oddity: no bishop has his seat here. The Archbishop of Dublin sits at Christ Church Cathedral, about 400 metres away. For a long time, the relationship between the two was complicated. It was only settled in the nineteenth century: Christ Church became the cathedral of the diocese, and St Patrick's the cathedral for the whole country.
