You're standing at Eidsborg Stave Church, right in the heart of Telemark. It's a small, brown wooden church, and yet it's one of the best preserved stave churches in Norway. Take a good look at the outside. The walls, the roof and even the corner posts are all covered in wooden shingles, almost like scales. In the middle of the roof sits a little tower. Inside it hang two medieval bells. The older one probably dates from somewhere between 1250 and 1280.
