You're standing at Perlan, on top of Öskjuhlíð hill, just southeast of central Reykjavík. The name means The Pearl, and one look tells you why. A glass dome almost twenty-six metres high sits on a ring of six big tanks. The building was shaped after a pearl, and it has become one of the city's real landmarks.
