You're standing at Höfði, a white wooden villa right by the sea in Reykjavík. First, turn around and face the water. That's the Kollafjörður, with the flat-topped mountain Esja behind it. The painter Louisa Matthíasdóttir grew up here. She looked at that mountain for ten years and kept painting it for the rest of her life.
