You're standing at the Imagine Peace Tower on Viðey, an island in Kollafjörður Bay just outside Reykjavík. In Icelandic it's called Friðarsúlan, the peace column. It's a memorial to John Lennon, created by his widow, Yoko Ono. Start with the white stone monument in front of you. The words "Imagine Peace" are carved into it in twenty-four languages. See if you can spot your own. The words point back to Lennon's campaign for peace and to his 1971 song Imagine.
