You're standing in a rather special place. Here, at the eastern end of the Oosterschelde, there was once a town called Reimerswaal. Today you mostly see water and the Oesterdam. And according to old maps, that dam runs straight across the former town centre. When it was built in 1978, nobody considered the town's remains.
