You're standing at the Cathedral of San Lorenzo in Lugano, the church of the Bishop of Lugano. Start with the façade, because that's the real star here. It's built from white stone from Saltrio and Viggiù and from Carrara marble. The builders took their cue from the famous Certosa di Pavia by Giovanni Antonio Amadeo. The façade was finished in 1517.
