You're standing on Piazza di San Lorenzo, high on the hill of Viterbo, in front of the city's cathedral. It's dedicated to Saint Lawrence and it's the seat of the local bishop. Legend says an Etruscan temple of Hercules once stood right here. Take a look at the houses around the square. On several of them you can still spot Etruscan and Roman foundations.
