You're standing in front of Prato Cathedral, the Cathedral of Saint Stephen. It's dedicated to Stephen, the very first Christian martyr. Start with the façade. Above the door you'll see bold stripes of light and dark marble. The lower part is paler and quite stained in places, probably from pollution. Right along the top runs an open band of Gothic tracery, as if the building melts into the sky. And where you'd expect a window, there's a clock.
