House of the Vettii in Pompei

You're standing at the House of the Vettii, in the streets of Pompeii, close to the Vesuvian Gate. This is one of the biggest houses in town. It takes up the whole southern part of a city block, between the Vicolo dei Vettii and the Vicolo di Mercurio. Have a look at the east façade. That's where the main entrance is, with just a few small windows beside it. A Roman house turned inward, not toward the street.
