You're standing at the Franz Kafka Museum, right on the bank of the Vltava in the Malá Strana district. Up on the hill above you is Prague Castle. The museum is housed in an old industrial building, the former Herget Brickworks. Not exactly a grand palace, but that somehow suits a writer who never quite felt at home anywhere.
