You're standing on the Plaza del Museo, right in front of the main entrance of the Museum of Fine Arts, one of the most important art galleries in Seville. Take a good look at the building. It looks rather grand, but it started life as a convent. It was built in 1594 for the Order of Our Lady of Mercy. That order was founded by Saint Peter Nolasco, in the days of King Ferdinand the Third, who took Seville from its Muslim rulers in 1248.
