You're standing at Museum Kranenburgh, on the Hoflaan, just outside the centre of Bergen. Take a look at the old villa. It was built in 1882 in neoclassical style, for Jacob van Reenen. His family had been the lords of Bergen since 1851. The house was named Craen Berch, after an old house nearby. When Jacob became mayor in 1885, this became the mayor's residence.
