You're standing at the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, right in the historic heart of Dijon. Inside is the Musée des Beaux-Arts, one of the largest and oldest museums in France. Take a look at the buildings around you. In the fifteenth century, this was the seat of power of the Burgundian state. When the duchy became part of France, the palace turned into a house of the King. In the seventeenth century it was reshaped following a plan by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, a name you might know from Versailles.
