Kempenmuseum De Acht Zaligheden in Eersel

You're standing in Eersel, one of the Eight Beatitudes. That's the nickname for a cluster of villages here in the Kempen, southwest of Eindhoven, whose names end in -sel. Eersel, Duizel, Hulsel, Knegsel, Netersel, Reusel, Steensel, and Wintelre, which locals call Wintersel. Sounds blissful, right? But the name started out as a joke, and not a kind one.
