İzmir Clock Tower in Konak

You're standing on Konak Square in İzmir, right by the clock tower. For many people, this is the symbol of the city. It even appears on the municipal emblem. Take a good look at its shape. The tower has eight sides and four floors, built from marble and stone around a skeleton of iron and lead. It's twenty-five metres tall, so you'll have to tilt your head right back to see the top.
