You're standing at the Zwarte Berg, the Black Hill, a burial mound on the Groenstraat just northwest of Hoogeloon. It might look like an ordinary bump in the landscape, but it's one of the largest of its kind. At about forty-four metres across, it is, together with the Kwaalburg near Alphen, the largest known ring-bank barrow in the southern Netherlands and Belgium.
