You're standing at Oliwa Cathedral, in the Oliwa district of Gdańsk. Start with the front. Two slender towers, forty-six metres tall with sharply pointed tops, frame the entrance. In the middle there's a Baroque doorway from 1688, and above it three windows, each a different size. Now look at the middle of the roof, where the naves cross. That little bell tower is a classic feature of the Cistercians, the monks this church was originally built for.
