Jemaa El-Fna in Marrakesh

You're standing on Jemaa el-Fnaa, the great square in the old city of Marrakesh. It's still the heart of town, for locals and visitors alike. Have a look around, because what you see depends on the time of day. In daylight there are orange juice stalls, snake charmers and water sellers in traditional dress, with leather water bags and brass cups. Later in the day come the storytellers, magicians and sellers of traditional medicines. Musicians and acrobats draw crowds here too. And when darkness falls, dozens of food stalls pop up and the square is at its busiest.
