Archaeological site Gerulata in District of Bratislava V

You're standing at Gerulata, in Rusovce, a borough of Bratislava. It may look like a quiet village now, but almost two thousand years ago there was a Roman military camp right here. This was the edge of the Roman Empire, in the province of Pannonia. The Romans built the camp in the second century as part of their frontier defences. Soldiers stood guard here on the outer border of the empire.
