You're standing at Bilbao Cathedral, dedicated to Saint James and one of the oldest buildings left in the city. Start by looking up at the tower with its spire and at the front of the church. They look medieval, but they're Gothic Revival. Local architect Severino de Achúcarro designed them, and they were only finished in 1887.
