Bizkaia zubia in Portugalete

You're standing at the Vizcaya Bridge, and this is no ordinary bridge. Look up. High above the Nervión river, an iron girder runs between two huge lattice towers. One stands here in Portugalete, the other across the water in Las Arenas, part of Getxo. Hanging from that girder is a gondola that shuttles people and cars across the river. This is a transporter bridge, and it's the oldest one in the world.
