You're standing at the Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaerde, the only beguinage left in Bruges. First, look at the stone bridge with its three arches. That's the Wijngaard Bridge, and it leads straight to the entrance gate. See the year above the gate? 1776. That's when master mason Hendrik Bultynck built it. In a niche you'll spot a statue of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, the patron saint of this beguinage and of many others.
