You're standing at Oenemastate, a stins in the middle of Heerenveen. A stins is an old Frisian stone manor house, and this one was built in 1640. It was commissioned by Amelius van Oenema, a grietman, which was something like a mayor and a judge rolled into one. His name is still on the house today.
