You're standing at Münster Cathedral, the St. Paulus Dom. Together with the historic City Hall, it's the symbol of this city. It sits on a small hill called the Horsteberg, right in the heart of the old town. Start with the two towers on the west side. They're Romanesque and were already here around 1192, built for an earlier cathedral. They look like twins, but they're not quite: the south tower is a little smaller. Those copper pyramid roofs only date from 1725. Before that the spires were taller, until the Anabaptists threw them down in 1534 and 1535.
