You're standing at the building of the National Assembly, Bulgaria's parliament, right in the centre of Sofia. In Bulgarian it's called the Narodno Sobranie. Have a look at the façade. The building went up between 1884 and 1886 in Neo-Renaissance style. The architect was Konstantin Jovanović, who trained in Vienna and Switzerland, and who also designed the parliament of Serbia. Because of its history, the building is protected as a monument of culture.
