Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Stolichna

You're standing at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the best-known building in Sofia and the church of the Patriarch of Bulgaria. Start with the domes. The big central one is gold-plated and catches the sunlight, with smaller green domes clustered around it. This is the Neo-Byzantine style: a church shaped like a cross, crowned by one dominant dome. The bell tower holds twelve bells, and the biggest one alone weighs twelve tons.
