You're standing at Kyrenia Castle, by the harbour of Girne. Behind these thick walls lies something remarkable: the oldest Greek ship ever found. It's a merchant ship from the fourth century BC, from the age of Alexander the Great and his successors. Look out at the sea beyond the harbour. About two kilometres to the northeast, thirty-three metres down, the wreck rested on the seabed for more than two thousand years.
