Museum Maison Carrée in Nîmes

You're standing at the Maison Carrée in Nîmes, one of the best-preserved Roman temples anywhere. Take a good look. This building is around two thousand years old and still almost intact. It rises from a podium nearly three metres high, with steps at the front. Above that sits a deep porch of columns, topped with elegant Corinthian capitals full of carved leaves.
