You're standing in Graveson, next to a stretch of road that's more than two thousand years old. This is the Via Agrippa, a Roman road. In 2015, archaeologists uncovered about two hundred metres of it right here, and it has been preserved. Notice how straight it runs. That was no accident. Roman engineers kept their roads as straight as they could, and they steered clear of marshes and of low ground that flooded when the rivers rose.
